My husband, Scott, and I made the decision to move back to our home state of Texas in the fall of 2018, escaping the crazy Oregon winter! We bought a little land outside of Kaufman and were introduced to the fascinating world of Longhorns.
The Texas Longhorn are a docile and friendly breed that has a natural resistance to most common cattle diseases and parasites. One of our favorite characteristics is their ease of calving/maternal instincts. Aside from their beauty, longhorns have unique colors, horn shape, & size. No 2 are exactly alike. These desirable traits, making them very popular among cattle ranchers today!
Fast forward to today, and we have bought a little more land. More land = more Longhorns, right? We have definitely developed a deep love and appreciation of this breed.
Aristotle once said “In all things of nature, there is something of the marvelous”. For us, that is definitely our herd of 40+ Longhorns!
